Climate strategist Yamide Dagnet is joining the Natural Resources Defense Council to lead the environmental group’s international department, the organization announced Tuesday.
Dagnet, a chemical engineer by training, is an expert on international climate policy. She joined the Open Society Foundations in 2021 in a newly created role as director for climate justice. She also previously served as director of climate negotiations at the World Resources Institute.
At NRDC, she’ll serve as international senior vice president in a role that focuses on global environment and climate treaties, as well as international finance.
“Yamide is renowned in international climate circles, and you would be hard-pressed to find someone who better understands all sides of global treaty negotiations,” NRDC President and CEO Manish Bapna said Tuesday in a statement.
