Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown plans to back a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the Biden administration’s rules implementing the electric vehicle tax credit, said an aide to the senator.
Brown, who is facing a tight reelection race in a manufacturing-heavy state, blasted the domestic content rules after they were finalized last week as too lenient on China and stripping jobs away from Ohio.
Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) has already pledged to introduce a CRA to overturn the rules, which Brown plans to support, according to the aide, who was granted anonymity to discuss legislation that has yet to be released.
If it were to clear the Senate, such a measure would likely also pass the GOP-led House, but President Joe Biden would almost certainly veto it.
